Born out of a shared love of surf culture and cardigans, The 427’s are a throwback to days spent at the beach and nights spent dancing at the Rendezvous Ballroom.

Influenced by early 60’s surf music, spaghetti westerns, and film noir, The 427’s formed in 2013 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada when Rob Day and Chris van Keir decided to let the guitars do the talking. Andrew Nugara and Geoff May were quickly added on bass and drums respectively and within months set lists were solidified for their first gigs.

Always ready for the omnipresent question, “Where’s the singer?” the gents’ comeback of choice is a reverb-drenched guitar. Their first EP, “Surf Noir” was recorded and mixed by Rob Day in fall 2013 and was released Feb. 4, 2014 to critical (personal) acclaim. As the fellas say, “We can’t find any waves here, so we’ve made our own!”
