Where Magnatech comes from, is not really known, although there are evil tongues whispering that he is the result of an attempt to combine the highly desirable skill of time-travel with the highly useful skill of vacuum cleaning in an ultra secret laboratory in the South-West of Germany. Since even the most outrageous lie always has a kernel of truth, it is true that Magnatech was found discarded at a waste heap near Stuttgart by some bored youth who had just discovered that their bodies were going to unfathomable changes and dealt with this in a very inappropriate and aggressive manner. Later on these youths would run out of luck, some ended up being prostitutes in the seedy underbelly of Stuttgart, some would become rocket scientists, some are rumored to have become garbage men in the West Unterlingen area of Spork, but nobody has been able to confirm this. One is believed to have become the victim of Austrian serial killer Jack Unterweger. Even though Unterweger had never been to Stuttgart, police still believe he was behind it. We may never know.
Being found and activated, Magnatech was looking for a purpose in his life. He found out rather quickly that the market for the combination of time-travel and vacuum cleaning is very limited, so he became an alcoholic. One bad day Magnatech was down and out sitting against a tree in a famous Stuttgart park when a man walked up to him and told him that he should go play guitar and make instrumental guitar music. He also told him that it should be a mix of surf, Indorock and early European instrumental music from the 1960's. And that is what Magnatech then did.
